Alison Schonhoff
about me
Well, hello there! My name is Alison Schonhoff. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'll start at the very beginning; I'm told it's a very good place to start.

LIFE STORY: I was born in late July outside of Dallas. I was always something of an... energetic child. Especially in comparison to my relatively quiet siblings. My wonderful parents loved me so much they wanted to find an outlet for said energy. Turns out sports were not quite my thing though. I was known to leave the soccer field when I got bored. Luckily, we soon found a place for me in community theatre.

My first show was Snow White at a local children's theater in which I played the Crone. From there, I continued participating in community productions, but also had the opportunity to work for Radio Disney recording commercials as a Radio Disney Kid from age 10 until I left for college. At the time, I also voiced additional characters for FUNimation Entertainment.
Since college, I've been finding work as a Wardrobe Supervisor for some fantastic companies like Norwegian Cruise Line, Ogunquit Playhouse, and even Walt Disney World. I've missed performing, though, and am looking to get back to my acting roots.

I am not yet sure what the next chapter of my life will hold, but I am rather looking forward to it; I am sure it will be quite the adventure!
Some of my favorite shows from middle school and high school include The Attack of the Pom Pom Zombies, Phantom of the Opera, and our ITS National Mainstage performance of Legally Blonde in which I portrayed Enid Hoopes.

Taking a step toward maintaining a professional career in this field, I chose to attend Oklahoma City University for my undergraduate degree: a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. At my university, I received training in classical texts such as Sophocles and Shakespeare, as well as Stage Combat training, dance classes, vocal training, movement and voice, instruction in dialects, improvisation, acting for the camera, and experience in various technical theatre fields.

In addition to my training, I was able to work with Matthew Sipress of Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma in It's A Wonderful Life and director Lance D. Marsh for the epic House of Atreus saga.
